On Tuesday, April 15, 2025 we said goodbye to our Bud who passed away peacefully and with dignity and respect at Southbridge Roseview Nursing Home in
Thunder Bay. Bud was born on June 9, 1934 in South Porcupine, Ontario and was named Stuart Ross, but was quickly given the nickname Bud, by his mother who called him her “Little Buddy”, a name that stuck with him his whole life. Bud loved nature, “being in the bush”, animals and most of all his family. He was always there for all of us, extended family included with love, support and his many words of wisdom. His weekly phone calls to his sister, in his later years, was something he looked forward to every Thursday morning at 9 am. Bud met the love of his life, Betty, married and raised their family in St. Catharines and later Sudbury. He worked installing furnaces and then as a salesman for the Natural Gas Company. He earned several awards, most notably for safe driving – which was very surprising to anyone who ever drove with him. Bud is survived and will be forever missed by his daughter Carol Lee and her husband Scott and daughter-in-law Leslee. His grandchildren, Spencer, Kelsey (fiancée Jon) and Bradley will always hold him in their hearts. Bud will also lovingly be remembered by sister Frances and her family and brother Gary, as well as his many extended family members, including Scott’s sister, Cindy, with whom he shared a special bond. Bud was predeceased by his beloved son Barry and his wife, Betty, whom he always held in his heart, as well as his own brother Barry and his parents Viola and Clifford Brooks. Bud will be reunited with Barry and Betty in interment at a later date and will be remembered in a celebration of his life. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.

"Good days and better days, no time for bad days” – we will remember this Dad, as we move forward…
