It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Constance Lagg on Friday April 26th, after a brief battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Port Arthur on March 10, 1950. She grew up at the family property on Paquette Rd. and attended Five Mile School, and Hillcrest High School. She worked as a bus driver with Iron Range Bus Lines for 18 years, enjoying both the school and charter routes.

Nancy enjoyed travelling and hit the road with her mom, family and numerous friends throughout her life.  Nancy had a love of fishing, cards, and gardening. She liked to lunch with friends, family, and the North McIntyre Twiggy’s group.  She was a member of the Bondslaves Christian Motorcycle Club for many years and made long lasting friendships.  She was an active parishioner of the Evangel Church and participated with the Ladies group there.  Over the years she made thousands of prayer crosses and distributed them everywhere she went. Her faith was immensely important to her.

Nancy is survived by brother Ken (Joanne), niece Ashley (Brad), and great niece and nephew, Emma and Conor Winton. She is predeceased by infant brother James, parents Constance and Fred Lagg, and numerous members of the Wakefield and Lagg families.

A special thank you to Janene and Tom, whose kindness and friendship over the past few years meant so much. Thank you to the parishioners of the Evangel church who made her final days so peaceful. Thank you to Joyce, Judy and all her friends for visits to the hospital, keeping in constant contact with her, and always stopping by the apartment when she wasn’t able to get out. Thank you to the Staff at the TBRHSC and St. Joseph’s Care Group for the excellent care she received.

As per Nancy’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 13th at 11 a.m. at the Evangel Church at 1260 Balmoral Street, officiated by Pastor Louise Heyer.  Interment will follow in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery.

Should friends desire, donations to the St. Joseph’s Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
