With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of our precious baby, Kaden Ezran Vaughn Quequish, on June 30, 2025, in Thunder Bay. At only 54 days old, Kaden blessed his family with moments of deep joy and pure love, and the love he inspired will endure for a lifetime.
Kaden was born in Thunder Bay at exactly 10:00pm on May 8th of this year. From the very beginning, he was everybody's baby – a beautiful surprise who instantly captured our hearts. Kaden came into this world with two tiny baby teeth, a rare and remarkable sign that even in his earliest moments, he was someone truly special.
Though our time with Kaden was heartbreakingly short, every second was filled with love. No words can ever capture how deeply he was loved, or how much he is missed today.
We will carry you, Kaden, in our hearts forever.
Kaden leaves behind his mother Audrey Quequish and his two big brothers Koda and Dominik, his other parent Jesse Boucher, his grandparents, Sharon (Louie) Quequish and Jake (Ida) Kanate. He leaves behind his aunties, Stacey (Darryi) Rae and Brianna Jeremiah; his uncle, Nathaniel Quequish; and his cherished cousins: Alisha (Lambert) Kakekayash, Larissa (Curtis) Beardy, Kaiya Waswa, Brysen, Braedon, Dimitri, Emerson, Kaius, Matthias, and Javier. Kaden was deeply loved by many, including his grandparents Roy and Shirley Fiddler, and all those in the community and beyond who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him and spend time in his presence. His light touched many hearts in his short life.
He was predeceased by his late great-great-grandparents, Japin & Elizabeth Quequish, Jacob & Gladys Kanate; late great uncles, William Quequish, Randy Quequish, and other numerous family members.
A Wake Service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, led by Emcee Gordon Beardy with singing by Rodney Martin and Frank Yellowhead, who will also give the sermon.
Kaden will then be transported back home to North Caribou Lake First Nation, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 12:00 pm, in the Weagamow Lake Evangelical Fellowship Church with Pastor Ivan Wapenisk officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Weagamow Lake Community Cemetery following the services.
