It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Oliver, who died on July 18, 2025, after a long illness.
Born in Port Arthur, Kenneth often shared vivid stories of a time when the main streets were still dirt roads. He served his country with pride in the Navy, stationed on Canada's last aircraft carrier. It was during his service in England that he met his beloved wife, Sandra, their love story beginning while he was in uniform.
Together, Kenneth and Sandra built their lives in the rural area of Pearson Township, where they raised their family: daughter Loretta (Chipper), and son Lorne (Brandi). Kenneth, though he faced personal struggles, was a steadfast provider for his family. He cherished his family, including his grandchildren Jordann, Wylie, Daniel, his great-grandson Avery, sister Lorana, and brothers Dougie (Teresa) and Gordie (Joni). He also had a great love for the many dogs he had throughout his life and found peace and joy in nature.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Thunder Bay & District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
Rest old man. May your spirit now embark on endless fishing trips with Kritter by your side. And when it's time to rest, may you sit by the fire with Breeze and Pompey, sharing tales of the stampedes you see in the flames and listening to the calls of the Bamashoos.
