It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Pattrosson (Aylward) at the age of 96. She passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital with her two daughters by her side. Born March 1, 1929 in Port Arthur. She worked for the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital for 31 years. She retired April 1, 1989 and enjoyed many of those years in Arizona.
Predeceased by her father Clarence and mother Esther Aylward from Five Islands, Nova Scotia. As well as brothers Frank, Arthur, William and sisters Ethel (in infancy), and Alice Pierce. She was the last of the surviving family.
She is survived by daughters Janis Aylward (Tom Burk) and Sharon Aylward (Bob Edgar). Also a special family that she was very close to: Kathleen, David, Lily and Alex Wright. As well as a good friend Brenda Arthur, who spent time trying to beat her at cribbage unsuccessfully.
Mom's last years were spent at Chartwell Glacier Ridge, where she received great care from the staff especially Vanessa and Joann, as well as Paramed employees Carolyn and Georgette who went above and beyond to look after her.
