Sullivan, Chim Akiwenzie, left on his journey with his loving family by his side, August 03, 2023, at the age of 64. He was the beloved friend of Kathy Kitchekeesick Wynn, his former wife and this renewed deep friendship shows us, love and caring does not end. He leaves behind his son, Sheean Anthony McGuire (Ashley Tomagatick), his grandchildren, Sheean A. McGuire, Jr., Kassius, Elena and his best friend and brother, Armin Del Rosario.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and other relatives in Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinabek and Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabek. Surviving siblings are Elsie Hagar, Maureen Pelliter, Henry, Daniel, Kathleen Moses, Cecilia Airns, Mike Toset and Dr. Patricia McGuire.

His parents were the late Annie (nee LeGarde) and Patrick McGuire. Sullivan was predeceased by siblings, Patrick, Agnes Harrison, Michael, Pamela Bertin, twins George and Nate, Russell, and Julia McGuire.

Sully began his final journey surrounded by his immediate family, laughing, joking, telling stories with his grandchildren and great nephew playing games in the kitchen.

Sullivan was very proud of his education he received his Bachelor of Arts from Lakehead University and his Sho-Dan (black belt) in the Okinawan, Isshinryu Karate-Do, which he received within two years, of beginning the discipline. He held many industrial accreditations and was known for the strength of his welding. He was an avid fishman, hunter, carpenter, and a great cook. He enjoyed lifting weights with his son and sharing many old stories about Lake Nipigon and his treaty area, Robinson-Superior 1850. He instilled the values of love for family, laughter, caring, kindness, honesty, and personal integrity. He said, the best birthday present he ever received in his entire life was the birth of grand-son, baby Sheean, now, 45 months old. He was kind to children, and he talked to everyone he met. He was a compassionate man.

Sullivan will be forever remembered by his laughter, unique sense of humor and being the loving and caring friend, uncle, brother, cousin, father and grandfather, he was.

Special thanks to the Kathy Wynn and his son for the amazing care and love they offered to him. His doctors and nursing team in Thunder Bay thanks for your contributions.
