October 21, 1975 – June 1, 2025
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ryan Lester Hill, age 49, at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on June 1, 2025.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ryan (who was known to many as Bubba) was the beloved son of the late Lester and Jo-Anne Hill. He attended Heath Park Elementary and Westgate High School before pursuing his passion for the trades through the welding program at Confederation College. In the early 2000’s, Bubba found his calling as a Boilermaker with Local 128 in Sarnia, a brotherhood he was proud to be part of and a career he dedicated himself to wholeheartedly for the last 21 years.
Bubba was a kind and gentle soul, known for his quiet strength, Big heart, and unwavering loyalty. He was the kind of man who left a lasting impression without needing to say much—someone who showed up when it mattered and who loved deeply in his own quiet way.
He will be profoundly missed by his sister Lindsey (Hill) Edwards, her husband Michael, his niece Alyssa, and nephews Ashton and Owen; Louisa Edwards; Kerri, Bernie, Emily, Ethan & Eric Kamphof; and other “little sister” Natalie Muzyka; as well as many Aunties and cousins.
Bubba was predeceased by both of his parents, Lester and Jo-Anne Hill; his uncles Richard Schmidt, Francis LaPointe, Blake Beange, Darryl Hill and Leonard Hill; his cousin Kevin Beange and Grandparents on both sides.
Forever missed by the friends who became family: Andrea McCuaig and her daughters Mackenzie, Leah, and Alexa; Corey and Tanelle Rabachuk and their children Eric, Ashley, Nicole, and Lindsey; Mama Luchie (Sharon Rabachuk); Carole Schelling, Tammy Soldera and families.
He will also forever be missed by his extended family of close friends in Corunna and Sarnia that held a special place in his heart—especially Jim and Jennifer Wilson and their children; Bubbas neighbour Kevin Hodgert and his numerous Boilermaker Brothers, that he worked with at Matrix NAC in Sarnia, ON.
A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held Friday June 27, from 1pm-4pm at the Murillo Hall, 4569 Oliver Road, Murillo.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ryan’s memory can be made to NICU TBRHSC or a charity of your choice.
