Roland’s time on Mother Earth ended peacefully on May 15th, 2024 at the New Frontiers Aboriginal Residential Corporation in Toronto, Ontario.
On March 21st, 1962, Roland was born in Nipigon, Ontario, educated locally, had two sons, Justin and Joseph, left the area at an early age for the Big City.
Once in Toronto, his path led him into fatherhood once again and was blessed with another son Justin, worked in the service industry and, at times, struggled with some of the life choices he made.
It wasn’t until he chose to not only walk the Red Road, but followed his Christian path which guided him through his life journey until his passing.
Roland was a Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory band member and honoured his aboriginal heritage.
Roland was predeceased by his father John, grandparents, Christine and Ignatius, and survived by his mother, Colette, at the time, three sons Justin, Joseph, and Justin, brothers Dean, JC, sisters Monique, and Denise, six nephews and one niece.
A lovely Memorial Service for Roland was on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, at the Forward Baptist Church in Toronto, Ontario.
Family and friends wishing to make donations, please give to your local foodbank.
He will be laid to rest with his mother Colette on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, next to his father John at the Cliffside Cemetery in Nipigon, Ontario.
