It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and Vaari, on Monday, August 14, 2023. Onni passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 92.

Onni was born in Finland and lived in Isokyrö until the age of 19 when he then immigrated to Canada. He married Seija (Tuomi) in 1957. He was a carpenter foreman, superintendent, and also built several homes in the area. Onni and Seija travelled in their motor home throughout the USA and Canada, with several trips to the Yukon; all the way up the Dempster, to Inuvik. Onni loved to fish, spending many wonderful times with his family and friends at Gulliver Lake. He also loved to sing and dance with his brothers and other family members, and enjoyed reading a good book at times too.

Onni was predeceased by his daughter Marla Elizabeth, grandson Clayton James, parents Martti and Tyyne, brothers Olavi, Toivo, Veijo, Jack and Paul, sisters Karen and Heli. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Seija, sons Brian (Anita) and Bruce (Rhani); 5 grandchildren: Ryan (Safia), Christine (Matt), Carol (Kriev), Arianna (Nikk), and Mariah (Derek); 4 great-grandchildren: Johanna, Mayson, Tristan, Dayton; brother Martti (Carol), brother-in-law Dennis Tuomi (Kathy) and sister-in-law Inga Laukka.
