December 25, 1980 – May 17, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Andrew Jason Bannon on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with family by his side.
Mark was born on December 25, 1980, at McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay to Leo and Terry Bannon (Jiggs & Webby). He was a proud member of Fort William First Nation and was educated locally at St. Patrick High School. Mark went on to build a successful career in the construction field, working with several companies including GFL, Tom Jones Construction, and Fort William First Nation.
Mark had a deep love for sports—especially hockey and baseball—and was known for his skill and passion in both. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and above all else, his greatest joy came from being with his grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Bubba and Nala.
Known for his amazing sense of humor, Mark was a jokester and prankster who could bring laughter to any room. With a big heart and a magnetic personality, he was truly the life of the party and brought joy to all who knew him.
Mark was a cherished son, brother, partner, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He lived with loyalty and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His kind heart, humor, and strong presence made a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know him.
Mark's legacy is one of deep love, compassion, and resilience. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the many stories we will continue to share.
He is survived by his loving mother, Terry Bannon, and his life partner Karrisa Solomon. He was a proud father to Dallas Bannon and Kristen Solomon, and a devoted grandfather to Ella Rose, Dallas Jr., Kaylee, Peyton, and Grace, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Mark will forever be remembered by his siblings: Leo Bannon (Tammy), Sheldon Bannon (Sabrina), Mandy Bannon (Chris), and Kevin "Yik" Johnson; and by his nieces and nephews: Lauren Waller (Sterling), Lance Waller (Shaylah), Lane Bannon, Sierra Bannon (Dylan), Bryer Bannon, Braxx Bannon, Shylah MacLaurin, Jersey Bannon (Jordan), and Christopher.
He also shared a close bond with his extended family and in-laws: Pete and Susan Collins, Vanessa, Peter John, Angela (Darian), Olivia, Mikayla, and Shane Jr.
Mark was predeceased by his father Leo “Jiggs” Bannon, his beloved son Dallas Bannon, grandparents Percy & Barbara LeGarde, Ray LeGarde, Nancy Fenton and Lawrance Bannon, as well as great-grandparents Lyla and Martin Bannon.
A memorial service to celebrate Marks life will be held on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 11am at St. Anne’s Parish. Traditional wake at 122 Mission Road, May 21-24. Everyone welcome.
