It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Pia Maccadanza on August 18, 2023. An incredible soul who made everyone around her smile.
She loved music and dancing and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. She will be sorely missed and was loved by many. Maria came from Italy with her husband to start a new life and build a beautiful future for her two children. By working hard, she put both children through school, purchased them homes, help raise grandchildren and still had time to help others around her. She was a devoted catholic and attended church regularly where she was part of the choir and helped with many church functions. Her favorite saying was, “it costs nothing to love each other” and she was kind to everyone.
She loved to garden, dance, sing and make others happy; it is all she ever wanted to do. We will miss you.
Maria is survived by her husband Remo Maccadanza; son Marco (Celina) Maccadanza; daughter Anna (Bill) Gallinger, and her two grandchildren Devin Gallinger and Austin Gallinger.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 leaving the Harbourview Funeral Centre to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 123 Hilldale Road, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini beginning at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. The Mass will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, August 23 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Harbourview where the Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
