It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Boucher, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Louise passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and strong family bonds.
Louise was the devoted mother of Lana (Marcel) Sprock, Steve O’Callahan, Deborah O’Callahan, Sheli Sager, Shawn O’Callahan, and Terry O’Callahan. Her children were the heart of her life, and she supported them with unwavering love, wisdom, and strength.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Whitney Posmituk, Daniel Posmituk, Kyle Sprock, Justin Sprock, Amber O’Callahan, Jess O’Callahan, Dawson O’Callahan, and many great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Louise is survived by her beloved sisters: Violet (Roy) Leipnitz, Jackie Freed, Sharon (Victor) Guarino, Margie Boucher, and Gaye (Bruno) Boucher; her dear sister-in-law, Doreen Boucher (wife of the late Russel Boucher); her cherished son-in-law, Robert E. Posmituk; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Family meant everything to Louise, and she deeply treasured the time spent with those she held close.
She was predeceased by her loving spouse, Cletis “Jerry” O’Callahan; her brothers, Douglas “Sunnyboy” Boucher, Guy Boucher, and Russell Boucher; and her parents, Phyliss and John Boucher. Though they are no longer with us, their memory lives on through Louise’s stories, traditions, and the love she passed on to her family.
Born and raised in Fort William First Nation, Louise embodied the strength, warmth, and grounded nature of her community. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A special thank you to her dear friends Ralph and Maxine—your friendship meant the world to her. To Auntie Violet, thank you for the many visits, bingo nights, and family dinners at cousin Beverly Hardy’s with her partner John, and for reminiscing over stories and photos of the Boucher family tree.
Another heartfelt thank you to Auntie Doreen—for all the lovely visits, shared laughs, and everything you’ve done for our family. Your love and support will never be forgotten.
Thank you to Faye Kimble for lovingly adopting Mom’s fur baby, Sammy.

A very special thank you to our beautiful daughter-in-law, Cherika Oakley, for the beautiful smudging ceremony she performed for Mom. We are also deeply grateful to Linda, the cultural practitioner, and the Elders of Fort William First Nation, who honoured Louise with a meaningful end-of-life smudging ceremony.
