Loretta Marie Netemegesic, our beautiful and kind-hearted mother, aunt, and grandmother, was born on August 12, 1969, and passed away on April 26, 2025, surrounded by family and love, at the age of 55.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 30 years, Elvin Tremble; her children, Clinton Netemegesic and Donna Tremble; and her beloved granddaughter, Katiya Netemegesic. She also shared a very special bond with her fur grandson, Mr. Nehneh, who brought her endless comfort and joy. Loretta was grateful to have Kim, Jennifer, Corinne, and Grace in her life—her husband’s children—whom she always welcomed and embraced as family.
Loretta was predeceased by her mother, Florina Netemegesic; her stepfather, Louis Brizard; her brother, Erwin Netemegesic; and her grandparents, Theresa and Nicholas Netemegesic. She is also predeceased by Mark Fox and Brenda Lychowyd; her husband’s children. Loretta had a deeply meaningful bond with her adoptive mother Carolina Petrillo and her husband Rinaldo Petrillo who welcomed her with open arms and made her a cherished part of their family. Loretta is also lovingly remembered by her aunts and uncle—Cecelia Penagin, Kathleen Shonias, Ramona Netemegesic, and Clayton Netemegesic—who were more like siblings to her, having been raised together in a close and unbreakable bond.
Loretta faced many serious health issues throughout her life, through it all she fought with incredible strength, grace, and resilience. Even in her most difficult moments, she remained loving, kind, sharp, and full of hope—never losing her sense of humour or her love for the people and things that brought her joy.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the hemodialysis team at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, especially Dr. Silverberg, and nurses Chantal, Sandra, and Lizette among many others for their exceptional care, compassion, and dedication. Their support brought comfort to Loretta and family during some of the most challenging moments of her life and their kindness and friendship will not be forgotten.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025 in the chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Deacon Michael Robinson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
