Leona Grace Dorval, 65, unexpectedly passed away on December 13, 2023. Leona was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her loved ones and friends.
Born on May 9, 1958 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Leona was a kind and nurturing soul. She will be deeply missed by her children Maranda, Cherri-Lynn, Meagan, Eric (Jaclyne), Adam (Kaylie). Leona loved and adored her grandchildren Mikayla, Olivia, Karolyn, Kamryn, Karter, Kael, Grace, Jayden, Hunter, Hailee, Killianne, Decker and her only great-grandchild Curtis. Leona also leaves behind her four siblings, as well as Brandi, Paige and Ava, whom she loved as her own.
Leona was predeceased by her son Peter-Leo, her mother Ruth and father Pete. Their memory will forever be cherished by those who loved them.
Services to honour and remember Leona will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 149 – 730 SIMPSON ST – beginning at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Leona’s name. Your support will help improve the mental well-being of individuals in need.
Leona’s warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
