With heavy hearts, we announce that Giovanni Pino, born November 23rd, 1938, passed away peacefully at the age of 86, at T.B.R.H.S.C. on June 8th, 2025
Giovanni grew up with a strong sense of family, born in Cosenza, Italy, later moving to Thunder Bay. Giovanni had a deep love for the Italian Community, helping construct the Italian Cultural Centre, and making several generous donations.
Giovanni loved playing cards with his friends at the Italian Cultural Centre as a proud member. Giovanni enjoyed watching and playing soccer, it was one of the many things he was interested in.
He made everyone feel welcome and loved. We will all remember Giovanni as a kind, loving person, someone who was always there for others giving out his love and support.
Giovanni is survived by his wife Rosetta Pino, son Michele Pino, his granddaughter Isabella Pino as well as by many nieces and nephews, other family members, and loving friends.
He was predeceased by his father Michele Angelo Pino, his mother Intemerata Pino, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 when family and friends will gather in St. Anthony’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini.
Visitation for friends will be held in the church for 1 hour prior to the Mass.
The entombment will take place at Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
