Mom’s Mantra: be truthful, be humble, be kind. Florence Louise Luke age 81, passed away on her own terms, peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 11, 2023.

Mom devoted her life to helping others better themselves. She was a well-respected educator, distinguished in her field. We were regularly approached by past students, wanting to thank her for making a difference in their lives.

She was always there to patiently listen and give advice. It always seemed to be just what you needed to hear always emphatic, mostly comforting and sometimes stringent, but you would leave feeling relieved, with new insight.

Mom very much enjoyed people, she loved her time spent visiting with numerous friends, her weekly Facetime meetings with Josie and Karen, visits with Susan, Leah, Penny, and Ryne were some of her most cherished times. Piano lessons with Susan and tea with Marnie kept her at the top of her spirits.

Mom was very thankful to have her immediate family close, children Mark and Tara, and her extended family living around the crescent, Joan and Ed, Debbie, Jeannie and Ryan, she often said she felt blessed by her acceptance into your family. Relatives were important to Mom, her last words before falling asleep were Family, family, family… Mom often spoke of her family in Saskatchewan, her sister Terri and brother Bill, nieces, and nephews. Mom was especially happy to see, talk with and discuss her grandchildren and her great grandchild. Mom always said it is impossible to love any child too much.

Mom is predeceased by her sisters Louanna and Kathy, parents Rose McDermott and Leslie Lowe, husband Mo, and daughter-in-law Julie.

As per Mom's wishes, there will be no funeral or service. For those who wish to pay respect, please pause, turn off the TV, put down the phone, find a quiet place… stop… breathe… think of what truly makes you happy and how you can make others feel the same way.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.

We will miss you Mom.
