Mrs. Edith Julia Wrightsell (Petrone), age 92 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 21 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimers.
She was born on July 25, 1930 in Port Arthur, where she was raised and educated. Edith had several jobs over the years, a favourite being working at Birk Stitt Jewellers. Most of her working life was spent as a school secretary for the Lakehead Board of Education, where she retired after more than 30 years of service.
After retirement, she enjoyed 21 winters in Arizona with her husband Robert.
She is survived by her son Robin Wrightsell (Pamela), and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Wrightsell.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 15th, 2023 from 1pm – 3pm at the Prince Arthur Hotel, Salon E, 17 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay. Please join the family for an afternoon of camaraderie and remembrance. Light refreshments served. If possible, RSVP on the NWFA website at the link below.
