Donald Wayne Bridges, 79 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospice with family by his side on June 12, 2025.
Don was born on December 21, 1945 in Toronto and grew up on the family farm with his parents Ronald and Dorothy Bridges and three younger siblings Douglas, Marilyn, and Allen in Guelph, Ontario.
Don loved geology and worked as a metallurgist in the mining industry for over forty years. In his free time, he loved fishing and spent every free moment out on his boat at Whitefish Lake. He also loved to travel and spent a lot of time in Texas.
Don is survived by his wife Gayle Couch-Bridges; his two children Ryan Bridges (Laura Bridges) and Sonja Bridges (Craig Erb); and three grandchildren Silas Bridges, William Erb, and Ian Erb. Survived by his sister Marilyn Bridges and two sons Sean and Jason. Also, by his brother-in-law Jim Couch.
Don is predeceased by his son, Kevin Bridges; his parents Ron and Dorothy Bridges; and his brother Doug Bridges.
A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2025 at 11:00am at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2820 Donald St E, Thunder Bay.
