The family of Andrea Nino Favuzzi are saddened to announce our father’s peaceful passing at St. Joseph’s Hospital on July 31, 2023 at the age of 86.

Andrea was born in Noicattaro, Bari, Italy. He was a professional painter by trade, opening up Favuzzi Painting and Decorating. Later, he opened Andre’s Restaurant on Cumberland Street successfully running it for 30 years until his retirement. His true calling was gardening; he enjoyed every moment in his spare time and could grow anything.

Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife Teresa (Figliomeni); sons Mark, Rob (Cheryl) and Dino; grandchildren Brandon, Teresa, Eric, Francesca and Dante; the Figliomeni family: Cosmo (Diana), Angie (Mario) Borgo, Joe (Karen), Mario (Lily), Rita (Stan) Komfolio and Nick; along with many caring nieces and nephews with all their support and love. He is also remembered by family in Bari, Italy: sisters Teresa (Giuseppe) Difruscolo, Savina, Emilia and Felicetta (Pietro) Masotti; brothers Joe (Antonia), Vito (Maria); along with many caring nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Dominic and Francesca (Sepenaro) Favuzzi.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nigro, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Del Paggio, Dr. Hagerty and the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their superior care. We would also like to thank barber Frank Grassia for making him feel better with every haircut and shave. As well as the visits from the family dogs Zeus and Hades and giving our father unconditional love at a trying time; he absolutely loved it.

Funeral Services for Andrea will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior. Interment will follow at a later date. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed live at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.

Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Andrea to the TBRHSC - Northern Cancer Fund, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
