It is with the greatest sadness to announce the passing of Ms. Alfreda Frances Mynott, 85 years of age, and resident of Southbridge Pinewood Court, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Fran passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 28, 2024 at 11:11am “when angels are near”.
Fran was born on July 5, 1938 in Dobie Twp, Ontario, she was raised and educated in Fort Frances, Ontario, then attended Confederation College in the Lakehead. Fran was employed for many years as a Bookkeeper/Financial Controller with Mc Bay Foods and the Army Navy Airforce Veterans Club, retiring after many years of service.
Fran enjoyed many various hobbies and was well known to be a very talented artist. She enjoyed ceramics immensely, earning various awards for her business, Fran-Lor Ceramics, as well as her many prized art pieces. Fran was a member of the Thunder Bay Bridge League achieving her Gold Card with her ACBL Life Masters Certificate. Fran was also an outstanding member of the Army Navy Airforce Veterans and gave service to her country.
Fran is predeceased by her father Frank Smith (Emo, Ontario) and her mother Nora Kellar (Devlin, Ontario), her sister Lorraine Swire (Gus), her brother Francis Smith, and her grandson Joshua Mynott.
Fran is survived by her son Michael Mynott (Maite) and her daughters Melody Long (Lee) and Crystal Cameron (David), her grandchildren Bret (Sohini) Cameron, Skylar Cameron, Michael John Mynott Jr, and her great grandchildren Rayne Mynott, Michael Mynott, and Alexander Mynott, sister Lois Martin as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.
Cremation has taken place.
No service will be held as per Fran’s wishes, and interment will be held at a later date.
