The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting three more possible blue-green algae blooms being spotted in the Sioux Lookout and Dryden areas.

Blooms have been spotted at Abram and Minnitaki Lakes near Sioux Lookout and Wabigoon Lake in Dryden, near the Eagles Landing Golf Course.

All are being tested by the Ministry of the Environment and the results are not yet known. Until the results are confirmed, the Health unit is asking everyone to treat the blooms as if they were blue-green algae.

Last week, a possible bloom was seen in Pelican Lake in Sioux Lookout.

For more information on blue-green algae blooms visit the Ministry of Environment or contact the Northwestern Health Unit at 1-800-830-5978 to speak with a public health inspector.
