PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION — Two people face murder charges connected to the death of a 24-year-old last month.
Provincial police issued an update on Thursday, announcing that a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old from Pikangikum each face first-degree murder charges in the death of Jerome Quill.
On Sept. 25, Pikangikum Peacekeepers, Pikangikum Police, and OPP responded to an incident on Fishhouse Road where one person was found dead.
The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in a Kenora court at a later date.
The investigation is continuing, under the direction of the OPP's criminal investigation branch.
