First-round NHL playoff action continues tonight with the Toronto Maple Leafs battling the Ottawa Senators in Game 6. This is a must-win for the Senators, as Toronto leads this series 3-2. Face off is on Thursday, May 1 at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. MDT)
Following another surprising result, the Ottawa Senators try to do the improbable and force a Game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.
It looked as if the Senators were toast. The Maple Leafs won the first three games of this playoff edition of The Battle of Ontario, and were poised to vanquish their provincial rivals in the minimum.
However, Ottawa has stormed back. After winning a spirited Game 4 on home ice, the Sens took advantage of a ghostly Toronto team in The Six on Tuesday night, coming away with a 4-0 win bring the series back to Canada’s capital.

The back-to-back losses have not only planted the seed of doubt in Leafs Nation, but the floral disappointment is already blooming. Memories of 2021 when the Leafs, who won the North Division that year, blew a 3-1 series lead to the Montreal Canadiens.
Now, this Toronto team has to try and recover and avoid having to play another Game 7 in the first round, something they have plenty of bad juju with over the past decade and change.
