It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Shirley Buckman on June 23, 2025. Shirley was born in Fort William, Ontario August 16, 1936. She remained in Thunder Bay her entire life, she married the love of her life Ernest Buckman and raised their 3 children. She was an avid gardener, one of the best perogie makers around, say her 8 grandchildren! Her pickling skills were second to none with the best pickled carrots you have ever tasted. The collection of homemade knitted mittens were shared with everyone, even after her death bags were donated to the local homeless shelter. She is survived by her two children, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, her sister Nora, and her very special friend Paul. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Netti Corsie, her husband Ernie Sr, her daughter Margaret Coulter, and sisters Wilma and Betty. The family wishes to send out a special thank you to Tammy Dumonski. She went above and beyond helping to care for her grandma in the last year of her life. We would like to thank the amazing staff at Southbridge Roseview for all the loving care they provided to our mother / grandmother in her time of need. Cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be held.
