It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Ellen Dean.

Ruth was born on October 3, 1934 in Orillia, Ontario to Anne and Russell Kean. She shared her Birthday with her Sweetheart husband Lionel. At the age
of 5 Ruth and her family moved to Deep Cove, BC. Ruth lived and raised her family in North Vancouver. She moved to Thunder Bay in 1975.

Ruth loved to bake. She made cakes for all occasions including weddings, It was a true passion. She marveled in her flowers and watching her gardens grow. She had many other interests from crocheting, knitting, baking, puzzles, crosswords and singing at the Salvation Army Church. She was a wonderful cook and
thoroughly enjoyed when everyone was gathered around the table - those were her fondest memories.

Ruth was predeceased by her Mother, Father, and Brother Ronnie (Moe), Step Son Calvin. Ruth is survived by Husband Lionel Dean. Children Phillip Shaw, Christine Shaw, Mark Shaw (June), Aleta Hrabok (Alex), Step children Donna (Allan), Lionel Jr. (Gayle), Sam (Bonnie), Jacqueline, Beverley (Lorne), Betty (Claudio), Terry (Iris), 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister Lauris, brothers Jimmy (Lorraine), Kenny (Pat) and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As per Ruth's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1037 Alberta Street in Thunder Bay on Sunday, December 4th, from
1-4. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army Church on Victoria Avenue in Thunder Bay.
