It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Doreen Maki announce her passing on Feb. 28/22 with family by her side. Ruby was born in Donaldson, Ontario on Jan. 30, 1939. Moving to Thunder Bay when she married Lorne Maki.

In her early years she worked at Guide Publishing, the LPH and retired from her job being Nolalu Postmaster. After retirement she enjoyed traveling to the States to different Casinos and taking in a Polkafest.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Rose Morrow, her husband Lorne Maki, daughter Kelly Cole, brother Rick, sister Thelma, also her in-laws Eino and Bertha Maki, Bob Flank and Ted Maki, she is survived by her son Mike Maki (Sharon), daughter Aili Ahola (Bruce), son Scott, son-in-law Shawn, grandchildren Lorne, Tyrone, and Chase, Richard, Shawna, Courtney, Daryl, Norma Jean and Stephanie, great grandchildren Shawna-Lynn, Kiera, Tomi and Chase.

She will be missed by all. Special thanks to Brenda Arthur and the nurses at TBRHSC 2A. A private family service will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 with interment at a later date. (When Covid allows). Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
