Rita Marie Randle, born May 21, 1956, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2025, at her residence in Thunder Bay. Born to Charles Theriault and Elaine Theriault (nee Rozier), she was the youngest of three daughters.
Rita was raised on a farm in Port Arthur and was no stranger to hard work. She was a Black Belt in Karate, even skipping her Brown Belt because her instructor felt she was too good for it, her effort surpassing the others being graded. Later, tree planting and Lakehead University Outers filled her desire for the great outdoors.
Getting married to Don only increased her outdoor adventures. Fishing, blueberry picking, cutting brush and building camps and houses kept Rita busy for the next 46 years.
Rita's love of God was her driving force, and everyone who knew Rita knew that.
She was a fantastic baker and cook, and generous with her wares. Tourtiere was one of the favourite's for locals at Margaret Street (Sturgeon Bay).
Survived by her husband Don and daughter Amy; two sisters Noella (Joseph) Hrabok and Jeanette (Rick) Ranta (Ottawa, ON); six nephews and one niece as well as her brothers-in-law Ken (Jeannie) Randle (Penticton, BC), Tim Randle (Dryden, ON), and Jeff Randle, and her adopted mother, Ann Femiak.
She was predeceased by her Pa, Charles Theriault and Ma, Elaine Theriault; father-in-law Albert Randle and mother-in-law Marie Randle, and nephew Shane Randle.
A Funeral Mass to Celebrate Rita's Life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10:30am in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Terry Sawchuk.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
