The family of Raimo Juhani Hollanti are saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 80.

Raimo was born in Sievi, Finland on October 3, 1942 and immigrated to Canada in 1965. He spent his early years working in the bush in and around Thunder Bay before moving on to general construction.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. He met Sirpa at the Finlandia Club, fell in love, and were married in November 1968 and began building a wonderful life for his family.

Survived by his three children, Ann (Paul), Ray (Amy) and Tony as well as his two beloved grandchildren Emma and Cameron. He is also survived by his brother Erkki (Liisa) and nieces Annelle and Hannele and family in Finland.

Predeceased his beloved wife, Sirpa in 2006.

As per Raimo’s wishes, there will be no service. Instead, the family suggests you spend time with your loved ones and maybe enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at Sweet G’s, Raimo’s favourite restaurant.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
