It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ole George Borg with his family at his side.

He was born and raised in Nipigon, Ontario, where he spent most of his life. He enjoyed spending his time going to the casino, watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, blue berry picking and spending time with his family.

He worked at Nipigon Plywood Mill for many years, then as a Petroleum Technician (as he liked to call it) at Pelletier’s Gas Bar.

Predeceased by his loving wife Ruth, his parents Florence and Ole, his grandson Storm, siblings Lorraine, Ragnar, Loretta, Randy, Darcy, Christina, and Conrad.

He is survived by his children Anne (Chester) Blanchette, Sara (Ian) Ross, Jennifer Borg, George (Shelley) Borg, Brandon Letourneau. His grandchildren Cassandra (Robbie) Foulds, Tatum (Laz) Blanchette, Chet (Nicki), Emily, Daniel, Brenna Ross. His Greatgrandchildren Hadlee, Hayzel, Stella, Sofia, Amira and Bennett. His siblings Bobby, Regina, Geraldine, Eulalia and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

A special thanks to the staff at the Nipigon District Hospital for making his journey as comfortable as possible. The family asks that any donations be made to the Nipigon District Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. A service to honour Ole will take place at the Nipigon Roman Catholic Church on Saturday February 24th at 11:00 am.
