Lyle Sumners

Lyle Sumners, 71, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Lyle will be remembered for his charm, quick wit and generous love for his children and grandchildren.

Lyle is survived by his children: John, Wayne, Audrey (Dave) and Tuula (Chris); Stepson Collin; grandchildren: Keira (Jeremy), Rayann, Matthew, Joshua, Tamara, Sohvi and great granddaughter Nora; Step grandchildren Meghan, Sierra and Brooke; siblings: Allan (Linda), Lillian (Frank), Kenny, Willy and Darlene as well as many nieces and nephews. Lyle is predeceased by his father Harold Sumners (Rose) and mother and Lillian Torkkeli (Leo), sister Wilma Morrow and sister in law Marcy Sumners.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, on Thursday December 1, 2022 presided by Rev. Robert Smith at 11am. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed live and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.

The family wishes to send special thanks to Dr. Simpson and the nursing staff of 3C at TBRHSC for their care and compassion. We appreciate all your efforts to ensure our dads wishes were followed to the very end. In addition, thank you to Bethammi Nursing Home for providing care to our dad for the last three years.
