November 1, 1986 – August 24, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Liam Henry Warner, age 38 years, on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He died as a result of a tragic accident while cutting a fallen tree in the woodland area around Northern Light Lake, an area he revered and spent many hours of his free time exploring.
Liam was born on November 1, 1986 in Thunder Bay to Larry and Marilyn (nee McIlwain) Warner. He was educated locally and graduated from Sir Winston Churchill High School, before entering Trade School. Liam was a hardworking and talented carpenter and had a successful career. He started with Tri-Ad Contracting before working at AJ's Garages and Buildings, and most recently with Bill Romano Contracting for the last number of years, where he made lasting relationships with coworkers.
From an early age, Liam followed his older twin brothers into athletics, excelling in hockey, golf and any other activity he chose. He also enjoyed a true passion for Kiteboarding at the Mission Marsh and other locations throughout the Northwest. He was also an avid outdoorsman, hunter, angler and explorer.
Liam was a very authentic, unique and forthcoming individual. He left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he came in contact with.
Liam will be deeply missed by his parents, Larry and Marilyn; brother Sean (Chantal) Warner (Jordan (Kristina, Noa and Lucy), Turner and Cale) and brother Jimmy (Heather) Warner (nieces Beatrice and Molly); and grandmother Susan Warner. He also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harry and Beatrice McIlwain and Wilfred “Bud” Warner and great-grandma, Nana Rena Lefevre.
The family would like to acknowledge the heroic efforts of Keith, Pascal and Jamie Gauvreau and for their assistance at the accident scene. A special thank you to Bill Romano Contracting for treating Liam so well over the years.
A Celebration of Liam's Life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm in the Michaelangelo Room at the DaVinci Centre (340 Waterloo Street South, Thunder Bay). Should friends so desire, donations made in Liam's name to charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
