It is with shattered hearts we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Theresa Dampier, 37 years old, of Fort Frances, ON. Having battled her breast cancer almost 2 years, Jennifer passed away at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, May 21, 2023 with family by her side.

Born on February 27, 1986, Jennifer was raised in Red Rock, ON surrounded by the love of a huge family and numerous friends. Jennifer skated with the Red Rock Figure Skating Club for 10 years, winning several medals during that time when competing locally. She also participated in the junior bowling league, Tai Kwon Do, Girl Guides and danced with the Fay Gleason Dance Center. Jennifer loved the thrill of riding a motorcycle and finally purchased one of her own, just months before her breast cancer diagnosis. Ironically, it was a custom painted pink Harley Davidson, complete with breast cancer decals. She only drove it once but she loved that bike and would often just sit on it and remember the freedom she felt during that single ride. Jennifer always was a “country girl” at heart and felt most at home wearing her cowboy boots and hat while the country tunes played. She loved listening to anything by Tim Albertson and attended the weekend long country fest at Old Fort William just because he was performing.

However, Jennifer’s greatest love was her family, especially her 3 children. As a single mom, Jennifer worked hard to provide for her children, making sure they had everything they needed and things they wanted. She always made birthdays special and Christmas was magical. Her daughter and 2 sons gave her the strength she needed to fight so hard and she was very proud of all 3. She loved the time she spent playing games with them, watching her boys slide down the snow hills and chatting with her daughter. Their smiles, silliness and laughter were music to her ears. Watching them all grow up was just one of the things she spoke about missing out on.

Jennifer was predeceased by her loving grandparents Virla and Elvin Dampier and her beloved cousin Tanner Dampier. She is survived by her daughter Kasey and sons Jace and Tucker, her parents Tracey and James Dampier, brother Chris Dampier, Nana Linda Winter and Papa Jim McDowall, niece Aria and nephew Marcus Dampier, uncles Tony Dampier and Todd Dampier (Jen), and aunties Selena Morris (Bill), Michelle Castles (Dustin) and Lisa Krentz, best friends Amy and Andrew Janssens, Brenda and Marty, Lisa McPherson, Jason Worona and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

In accordance with Jennifer’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in the main floor hall of the Oliver Road Community Centre, 563 Oliver Rd, Thunder Bay, ON.
