“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are past away”
Revelation 21:4

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, Mrs. Jean Dickson, aged 91 years entered into her heavenly rest, leaving behind the struggles and cares of this world and is now in the arms of her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. She is now basking in the glory of God, experiencing pure joy and everlasting life.

Jean was born in Dover, England on August 29, 1931. Her family moved to Canterbury, England in the late 1930’s. She had a modest upbringing in a loving family being the youngest of seven children.

Jean married the love of her life, John, in June, 1951 and emigrated to Canada two years later. After spending a few months in Toronto, Jean, John and their baby daughter, Helene, moved west to Fort William, Ontario. (Thunder Bay). In 1954, by God’s grace, Jean came to know Jesus as her Lord and Saviour and would serve Him for the rest of her life. Within a few years two more children, Keith and Alan came along, completing their family. Jean loved children and loved sharing the gospel as a Sunday school teacher in the 1950’s.

One of Jean’s joys in life was being a mother. She was a wonderful home maker, caring for and serving her family and church family in many ways over the years. In 1969, Jean entered the work force and worked at Laura Secord for nineteen years, retiring in 1988.

Jean was thrilled when the grandchildren started to come along in the 1980’s and greatgrandchildren in the 2000’s. She was a long-time sewer and knitter and enjoyed knitting outfits for the grandbabies. Love was put into everything she made. Part of her joy of being a homemaker was cooking and baking and then many times sharing the fruits of her labours with others.

Jean was thankful to the Lord for the long and very happy marriage to John for fifty three years which was rooted in their love for the Lord Jesus.

Jean was a prayer warrior who saw many prayers answered especially in regard to the salvation of others. Nothing thrilled her heart more than seeing people coming to repentance and faith in Christ.

The ladies’ Bible study group at Fort William Baptist Church was another area of Jeans’ life that she enjoyed. Studying God’s word, spending time in prayer, and fellowshipping with the ladies was something she looked forward to each week.

The last year and a half was a difficult one for Jean, physically. However, she continued to trust in the Lord giving thanks each day for all the Lord had done for her, for He has promised to never leave her nor forsake her. His grace being sufficient for every circumstance.

Survived by her daughter Helene (Gary) Wolframe, sons Keith (fiancée Conne Clegg), Alan (Heather), grandchildren Jennifer (Scot) Morrison, Heather Wolframe, Alan Wolframe, Brynn Dickson (partner Basil Conrad), Graeme Dickson, Megan Dickson, great grandchildren , Brayden Wolframe, Evan, Seth and Senja Morrison, Leo and Luna Conrad, and niece Charmaine (Henry) McMeekin.

“ Come unto Me , all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Mathew 11: 28-30
