It is with profound sadness that the Family of Doris Raman announce her passing December 17 2022 age 92 years 5 months.

Mom was born in Fort William to Ukrainian parents Samuel and Mary Chaludom.  Her first language was Ukrainian her second Polish (learned from the neighbour’s children) and finally English when she started Public School.

She grew up a country girl raised on a ten-acre farm on the 20th side road attending and graduating the Rosslyn Road School.  The family sold the farm and moved to town to facilitate Mom`s attendance at Selkirk High School (student busing did not exist).  Mom met her future husband and father to her 3 sons at the Old North Star skating rink.

Mom`s training in short hand, typing and book keeping kept her in what today is referred as administration work which she held until starting her family at that time she became a stay at home mom.

Cooking, baking (fresh cookies or buns when we came home from school) sewing, gardening, and reading (Mom was an avid reader all her life the bible being at the top of her list).

Circumstances lead her to live with her eldest son near the village of Hymers, making many friends and becoming a member of the O` Conner Women`s Institute serving as Secretary Treasurer for a while.

She is survived by her sons Allan (Gillies Township), David (Deep River) and Tim (Trenton).

There will be a private graveside ceremony at Sunset Memorial Gardens next week. A Celebration of Life will be held in May with an open invitation for all to attend.

Mom`s Christian faith was foremost in her life and now she has gone home to be with Jesus.

A thank you to the Staff of 2 South Hogarth Westmount for the excellent care provided to Mom over the last few months. In lieu of Flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated
