It is with overwhelming sadness & broken hearts that we announce the passing of our sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend, Dianne Baxter on Monday November 28, 2022.

Dianne chose to leave on her own terms after a short & difficult battle with cancer.

Dianne was born on July 24, 1950 to Olga & Jerry Noy in Port Arthur. She attended Prospect & Hillcrest High Schools & Confederation College. She started working at the MNR in 1980 and remained there until 1992.

She met her husband Terry in 1966 at Hillcrest and married in 1972. They bought property & settled in Kakabeka Falls and became residences of Conmee Township for 50 years. In the early years, Dianne & Terry enjoyed tending to their flower & vegetable gardens, she loved to bake, preserve, bowl, aquabics, ceramics, cards, going for rides on Terry's Motorcycle, Sunday saunas, hosting the Annual Christmas pot- luck tree hunt, & having numerous bake offs with their neighbors up the road; the McLeod's, Bailey's, Kingsborough's, Linda Varey & Muncaster's.

She would often enter her homemade pickles and her "Secret Wild Strawberry Jam" (wink Ha Ha) in the Hymers Fair where she would occasionally win a ribbon or 2. She belonged to the Kakabeka Legion where she helped with teas & Bingos & the 55+. She couldn't wait to turn 55 so she could go and play cards. She also enjoyed playing bingo & going to Grand Portage casino. She kept in touch with the girls from work and went for lunch every few months to catch up.

She will be deeply & forever missed by her sister Nancy Gibson, nephew Brad & niece Brieanna & husband Mike Conrad, sister Linda Sylvester, nephew Nathan ( Aoife,) niece Shannon Brewer, brother & sister In law Rick & Terri Baxter, nephew Andrew & niece Allison & families.

Dianne is predeceased by her husband Terry Baxter (2016) her parents Olga (2009) & Jerry Noy, (1999) brother Ron Noy, (2018), in-laws George & Evelyn Baxter, Uncle Ken & Irene Noy, Uncle Horace Noy, cousins Cathy Bailey, Jennifer Illson & Jonathon Noy.

The family would like to thank Doctors Ibrahim, Bezanson, Allison, Para Med homecare Leanna & Kat, TBRHSC 1A staff & a special thank you to Palliative Care Nurse Robert, TBRHSC-Cancer Centre, the wonderful caring staff of Hogarth River Manor Cedar wing TCU (Transitional Care Unit) for their care and compassion you gave Dianne in her final weeks.  A very BIG thank you to Dianne's neighbors Karen & Jim Kingsborough, who have been a godsend for everything you have done for Dianne from taking her to her treatments, doctor’s appointments, shopping, cleaning, helping with the house etc.  You went above and beyond & we are forever grateful & appreciate it very much!

Also thank you to James for doing the snow & Wilf for keeping the grass cut over the years. Please forgive us if we have missed anyone.

Respecting Dianne's wishes, cremation has taken place; there will be no formal service. There will be a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion 4556 Trans Canada Hwy Kakabeka Falls, on Thursday December 8th, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00. Dianne will be laid to rest next to Terry at the Conmee Cemetery with a private family interment, in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the TBay & District Humane Society, or the Northern Cancer Fund. Dianne was kind, generous, funny and is probably reunited with Terry, her many fur babies, Mom and playing Crib with Dad right now. We will miss you.
