It is with great sadness the Jankovic family announces the passing of Cedo Jankovic, just 38 days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. Cedo was born November 15, 1947, in the village of Gornjoselci, Bosnia to parents Branko and Persa. Cedo was the oldest of five boys. He immigrated to Canada August 23, 1963, to join his parents and start the next chapter of his life. After high school, he enrolled in a Sheet Metal apprenticeship program and after becoming a journeyman, spent all his working career in the trade. He was a proud 50-year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #397. He worked for many years at Rugged Air Systems and then his own company, Lakeshore Ventilation, until retirement.
Cedo had a keen interest in planes and flying, so he attained his private pilot’s license and he purchased a J-3 Cub, C-FBGK and flew many trips to their camp on Eva Lake for fun and fishing. Cedo took up golfing and played in many district tournaments. Having the first tee time at his beloved Strathcona was the highlight of his day. Cedo was a proud member of the Masonic order and was initiated into Port Arthur Lodge No. 499 in 1984. He served as Worshipful Master in 1990, 2013, and 2014. Cedo also joined Superior Lodge No. 672 in Red Rock and served as Worshipful Master 2008-09. He was later elected District Deputy Grand Master for Algoma District in the Province of Ontario 2011-12. Cedo was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and past Commander-in-Chief of the North Star Consistory.
Cedo is survived by his wife of 52 years Donna (Kislock), brothers Ljubo (Carol), Branko (Colette), nephews Steven (Kaitie), Rob, Darren (Karin), Daniel, and Jackson Kislock, niece Kimberly (Clayton) and their son Michael. Grand-nephews Benjamin and Felix. Sister-in-law Mira (Bozo).
Cedo was predeceased by his father Branko, mother Persa, brothers Ranko and Nick, and nephews Douglas and Scott.
Cremation has taken place, and a service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, in the chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home preceded by a Masonic Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
