With broken hearts the family of Brian Keith Kral announce his sudden passing on August 17, 2025, at the age of 66. Brian was born on December 22, 1958, in Fort William, Ontario. He is survived by parents Keith and Annette Kral, son Ian Kral (Simone), sister Debra Csabak (late Richard Csabak), and nephew Keith Csabak (Taiza).

He was raised and educated in Thunder Bay attending Sir Winston Churchill High School and graduating from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. He was employed by the City of Thunder Bay for more than 30 years, until his retirement in 2016 as Roads Supervisor. He and his family were particularly proud of his accomplishment of becoming President of the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors.

Brian was a proud father to Ian, spending time with him making sure he duplicated his father’s passion for hockey. They enjoyed many trips together seeing their favourite teams the Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks play, along with golfing together in various courses throughout Minnesota. Brian was a true sports fan, but his greatest love was football. He played high school football as a proud Churchill Trojan and after graduation, he continued to stay involved with the game by officiating minor and high school football along with umpiring baseball until the age of 50. He was a true “Cheesehead” being a Green Bay Packers fan forever and enjoyed going to football games with friends and family as often as possible.

His happy place was Las Vegas and he enjoyed talking about it and planning the next adventure with his sister Debbie as soon as he returned. He had the gift of gab and if you were lucky enough to run into him you would get to enjoy his great sense of humour, perhaps one or two “zingers”, or if you needed advice, he would always tell it like it is. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre would be appreciated.

Gone but never forgotten.

Rest in peace, Brian.
