It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Audrey Mae Allan (Bailey) at the age of 97 on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Southbridge Roseview Manor with family by her side.
Born in Port Arthur, Audrey graduated from Port Arthur Collegiate and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing working in Thunder Bay and Marathon Wilson Memorial as a Registered Nurse. She was an avid organ and piano teacher in Marathon, a member of the Port Arthur and Marathon Curling Clubs, the St. Paul’s United Church Ladies Auxiliary and North McIntyre Seniors Ladies Group. Audrey retired in 1982 along with her husband Arne, moved to Thunder Bay where together, they built and enjoyed their lakeside rural home. Audrey is survived by two daughters, one son, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband of sixty three years, Arne Mathew Allan in 2010, her son Richard John in 1973, her parents Florence and William Bailey and her sister Wilma Scott. Many other relatives and many friends are also left to mourn.
Our family also wishes to acknowledge the care given to our mother, Audrey Allan, at Roseview Manor and special thanks to the staff at the P.R. Cook Apartments who assisted our mom with quality living the last four years.
Cremation has taken place and a family memorial and celebration of life will be held at a future date.
If desired, donations may be made in Audrey’s memory to the Underground Gym and Youth Centre Thunder Bay or the Thunder Bay District Humane Society.
