We regret to announce the death of Mr. Andre Marcel Laurin, on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 74 years of age at Hogarth Riverview Manor LTC in Thunder Bay, ON.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty), his 2 sons, Henry (Nicole, Evan, Emily) in Thunder Bay and Peter in Nova Scotia; his 3 sisters Carole, Nicole and Therese, all in Hearst, as well as his estranged grandchildren Alexander and Emily and many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents: Maurice and Madelaine (nee Roy) as well as his brothers: Yvon, Jocelyn, Fernand, Gabriel “Gaby” and Michel Laurin.

We will always remember Andre as the Master Accountant and even more Masterful Golfer.  He held many positions and titles in his lifetime, working in the Lumber Industry, Mining, Construction, Accounting, Bus Driving and lastly as Superintendent with his wife Betty of their apartment complex in Kingston, NS. He was passionate about Golfing and Curling and put many years towards bettering those sports as a volunteer and chair member wherever he was living.

But ultimately, we will remember Andre as loving, loyal and giving family man; always willing to sacrifice and put his family first.  His last years suffering with dementia were not easy, but even when he could hardly speak, he was always happy to see and be with “his Betty”.

The family would greatly appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society as expressions of sympathy.

Per the wishes of Andre and Betty, no service will take place, though a private burial will be held at a later date at the family plot in Jogues, ON.
