Anastasia passed away peacefully at Northwood Lodge on Sunday April 24, 2022 at the age 96. She will be missed by her daughters Mary (Wayne) Shapland, Vicky (Dwight) Forsythe and Laura (Ray) Landry. Her grandchildren Mike (Antonella) Shapland, Donnie Forsythe, Robbie (Shannon) Forsythe, Jerrett & Logan Landry and her great grandchildren Brooke & Ryan Shapland, Carson, Brody, Macklin & Liam Forsythe. She is also survived by her sister Mary Bohun and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anastasia was predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony), her parents Radion & Lukia Tymoschenko, sister Helen Budiak and brothers in-law William Budiak and John Bohun.
Nadia immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine in 1951. She worked as a short order cook at many of the restaurants in Red Lake and in the kitchen of the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital. Nadia had the gift of cooking a delicious meal out of anything and was known for making some of the best perogies.
Nadia was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed playing cards and dice with her family. She also enjoyed travelling and travelled to Las Vegas, Mexico, Cuba and Ukraine.
A private service and interment will be held.
