KENORA -- There's a new six-shooter in town.

Thunder Bay North Stars freshman Easton Mikus set a new rookie record on Saturday night, scoring six times to help the Stars into the win column for the first time this season, downing the expansion Kenora Islanders 11-4.

It's just the second time in Superior International Junior Hockey League history that a player has scored six times in a single contest

Colin Wise was the first to hit the milestone -- last reached in the National Hockey League in 1976 by Toronto's Darryl Sittler -- turning the trick on Feb. 10, 2009 in Schreiber's 13-2 win over the Sioux Lookout Flyers.

Mikus, who played for the Thunder Bay Kings last season, added an assist and has seven goals and 10 points in three outings for the Stars (1-2-0).

Connor O'Brien, Eric Sheriff, Dimitri Trahiotis, Drew Caddo and Nolan Desjardins also scored for Thunder Bay. Mikus tallied four times in the first and added singles in the second and third. Linemate E.J. Paddington had five assists on the night.

Dalton Sinclair, Keelian Levasseur, Aaron Bertschinger and Brayden Mackay had the Islanders goals.

The two teams meet again on Sunday afternoon at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre.

Dryden 2, Red Lake 0: Goaltender Michael O'Sullivan stopped all 28 shots directed his way to lead the Ice Dogs to a home-ice win over the Miners. Carson Devine, in the first, and Max Roby, into the empty net late in the third, scored the game's only goals.

Sioux Lookout 4, Wisconsin 0: Jack Osmond was perfect on the night, making 25 saves to led the undefeated Bombers to the shutout win, their fourth win in as many tries this season. Owen Riffel scored twice, giving him double-digit goals in three straight games, with singles going to Jonah Smith and Connor Burke.
