ATIKOKAN – A 36-year-old woman has been charged, after refusing a sobriety test.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued early Wednesday morning, said they had interaction with a woman at the Atikokan detachment on July 7 at about 11 p.m., during which officers had reason to believe the woman had consumed controlled substances.

The accused was asked to do a field sobriety test, refused, and was placed under arrest.

The woman was charged with one count of refusing to comply with a demand and her licence was suspended for 90 days. Additionally, her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released and is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 28
