Winnipeg resident arrested in Dryden for sexual assault

A person from Winnipeg has been arrested after a traffic stop conducted by OPP.

DRYDEN — The OPP in Dryden have made an arrest in a sexual assault case. 

Police had conducted a traffic stop Thursday morning along Government Road after receiving a traffic complaint. 

Officers arrested a 24-year-old from Winnipeg during the stop after an investigation. 

The accused is facing 10 charges that include sexual assault, forcible confinement, spousal assault and other charges under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is being held in custody for a future court date. The police state the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
