FORT FRANCES – A Devlin man is facing impaired driving charges following following a traffic stop in Fort Frances on Sunday.
The Ontario Provincial Police said in a release on Wednesday that members of the Rainy River District Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation following a traffic violation that occurred on Sunday.
Police said that during general patrol in Fort Frances, officers observed a traffic violation by a motor vehicle travelling on Highway 11 and initiated a traffic stop where, through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol.
The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Rainy River District OPP detachment for further testing where he was charged with impaired driving.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on June 12.
