Weapons charges laid in Ignace

OPP has arrested and charged one individual with numerous weapon offences.

DRYDEN – OPP Northwest Region is reporting that on the evening of June 11, officers with Dryden and Ignace OPP Detachments and members from the OPP Emergence Response Team executed a warrant at a residence in Ignace.  

Inside they found a firearm and a weapon that can be used for a dangerous purpose.

The OPP arrested and charged a 37-year-old from Ignace Township with possession of a dangerous weapon, pointing a firearm, using a firearm while committing an offence, possession of a restricted firearm, uttering threats to cause death or harm, and knowing the firearm was restricted.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear before the court at a later date.
