Weapons charges laid after April 30 incident

B.C. man behind bars after police responded to three reports of weapons complaints in a Kenora parking lot.

THUNDER BAY – Weapons charges have been laid against a British Columbia man after an incident in Kenora.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Thursday, said they were called to three reports of weapons complaints in a store parking lot on Mikana Way on April 30.

A 38-year-old Nanaimo, B.C. man has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The accused was held for bail and has been remanded into custody to face a future court date in Kenora.
