SIOUX LOOKOUT—Water and sewer rates are set to increase in Sioux Lookout as of Friday.
Residents have not seen these rates go up for a number of years. Because of COVID-19, like many other potential rates for municipalities, increases in these rates were put on hold by city council.
Chief Administrative Officer, Michelle Larose, indicated that this increase is necessary to help fund several major infrastructure projects, such as their wastewater treatment plant.
Should residents have any questions or want more information about the rates that will come into effect as of April 1, they can call their Finance Department at 737-2700.
