TORONTO — Jessica Shabaquay of Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation has won $75,000, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced on Friday.
The 33-year-old said that she’s been playing the lottery since she turned 19.
"I play twice a week. This is my first big win," she said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her big cheque. "When I realized I had all the numbers in the winner’s circle, I didn't believe it, so I had to check the ticket on the OLG App and that's when I confirmed I won $75,000. I was shaking."
Jessica, who works in the education industry, plans to pay some bills and take her kids to Toronto and Niagara Falls.
"We want to visit Canada's Wonderland," she said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Red River Co-op Gas Bar on Government Street in Dryden.
