OPP respond to two separate impaired incidents in one day

Kenora OPP was busy dealing with two separate drunk driving incidents on March 2.

KENORA – The first impaired driving incident was on March 2 at 2:00 a.m. while officers were on general patrol.

After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle outside a business on Main Street South, police determined the driver was impaired by alcohol, according to the OPP.  

The driver, a 35-year-old resident of Kenora, has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on March 21.

The second impaired driving incident happened on the same day -- just after 11:30 p.m. Officers were on patrol in the area of First Avenue South where they observed a traffic violation

After initiating a traffic stop, police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, a 79-year-old resident of Kenora has been arrested and charged with driving while impaired

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on March 28.
