Two face drug charges after Dryden traffic stop

DRYDEN — Two people face multiple charges after a traffic stop in Dryden resulted in the seizure of drugs valued at more than $250,000.

Provincial police stopped a vehicle on Wednesday for a traffic violation, where they found controlled substances and weapons.

Benjamin Fumerton, a 33-year-old, and Harmony Morand, a 23-year-old from Dryden, have each been charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose, possession of break-in instruments and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The pair have been remanded in custody and are expected to appear in a Dryden court next week.
